Believe it or not, I woke up this morning to see SNOW on the ground!! Enough with the white stuff, already! Sure, it’s going to melt, but who needs to see snow on the ground at the end of April?
Not me.
Twenty six more class days here in Wisconsin, and then one week later, it’s the official kick off to drum corps season. I was looking at the calender the other day and realized that our first contest is June 21, NOT June 27. OOPS!! We’re going to have a very busy opening week!
News.. news.. news.. I will be in Texas next week, May 3-10. Still looking for a few more schools to visit.. (hint!! hint!!) No MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND CAMP FOR RACINE NORTH. It’s Prom weekend, so if you aren’t going to the prom, make sure you come to help out with the aluminum can drive. I am still looking for a place to have camp for the brass section and the front ensemble for RACINE SOUTH, for May. We will have the traditional Memorial Day weekend camp in Racine, May 23-25.
We have some new people to welcome to our ranks!! John Bratton is a baritone player from Rome, Georgia. I hope to be able to make some more membership announcements by the end of the week. We also welcome Chelsea Bryant to our staff. Ms. Bryant is a band director is Hondo, Texas. She will be working with both the music and marching captions this summer.
That’s all the news for now.
