Greetings from sunny (and finally warmer) Wisconsin!

      With temperatures approaching 40 degrees today, it’s easy to get excited about summer!

      Racine SOUTH had rehearsal over the weekend, and while attendance was slightly down due to weather (You call THAT a snowstorm?) We still managed to get things accomplished. Now the push is on to merge North and South for the April camp, which will be held in delightful Denton, Texas, on April 11, 12, and 13.

Everyone from the NORTH should have received their permission forms in the mail by now. If you live in Wisconsin, Illinois, or Indiana and have not received a permission form and medical release form to fill out, please call Andrea ASAP.

NOTE: Although the letter says that we will be making a 6:00 pm departure, it is NOT set in stone yet, but as soon as I have a DEFINITE departure time, it will be posted on the website.

BINGO HELP is desperately needed for the weekend that the corps goes to Texas. If you can work even ONE night of BINGO while the corps is away, please call Paul or Andrea NOW. Remember!!! BINGO is the corps’ primary source of income!!

All corps members are asked to dig out their WHITE MTX marching shoes from last season. You will need these for the April camp. If you have shoes that no longer fit, bring them with you. If you need shoes, you can order them after the April camp. We will also take orders for corps jackets at the April camp.

PARENT HELP IS NEEDED for the Texas camp weekend. If you can help with meals (cooking/serving/cleaning up) or truck construction, please call or e-mail Andrea as soon as possible. This would be a great opportunity for the Racine SOUTH parents to see how the corps works.

A very big THANK YOU to the following people who helped to make our last camp a success: Tom Chase, Dennis Durbin, Ray and Karla Cox, Sally Antcliff, Brian Wilson, and Gary Fitch. YOU ARE JUST THE BEST!!!

The push is on to fill up the brass section. If you know of brass players who might be interested in joining the corps, please get this information to Andrea. We are also looking for a few more people for the front ensemble.

Congratulations to our drum major, Matt Lunsford, who will be speaking at the upcoming MENC (Music Educators National Conference) in Milwaukee in early April. Also, Best Wishes to all Racine NORTH students who are performing in Solo and Ensemble contests this coming weekend.

The far north contingent (Oneida) will be having a bake sale fundraiser at the IMAC Casino this Saturday from 4-8 pm. If you are in the Green Bay area, stop by and say hello. Bring your wallet or check book with you!

All corps members are encouraged to sign up for the FORUM section of the website. A gentle reminder; you can also download music and most necessary paperwork from the website as well. A further reminder: it’s never too early to start begin paying on your corps fees. You can send a check or money order to Treasurer- PO Box 085298, Racine, WI 53408-5298.

Finally, we are still looking for T-shirt designs for the coming season. If you have any ideas, send them along to Andrea.
