Greetings from upstate New York! Thanks for all of the Get Well wishes for my mom- her surgery went well and she is now in rehab for her knee. Hopefully she will be able to return to her home early next week.
I trust that everyone made it back to their home base safely. I spent Finals Night at the Indianapolis Airport. It was quite the experience.. kinda like Mardi Gras, airport style. Did it seem strange to return to an environment where you didn't have to sleep on a gym floor or eat off a foam plate? First thing I had to drink when I got to Mom's house? A glass of Kool-aid!
I want to thank everyone that contributed to our successful 2010 season. Whether you helped out at BINGO, drove a bus or the truck, cooked, sewed, or gave up vacation time to help us on the road.. your contributions were greatly appreciated. A big THANK YOU also to the 2010 instructional staff.. Sarah, Kris, Matt, and Bobby- you gave us all a product to be proud of. Thanks to all of our membership- you all never gave up and worked right through to the end. It was a pleasure to work with and for you this year. MOST importantly, an enormous thank you to all of the parents that allowed their kids to participate in the Racine Scouts this season.
Plans are already underway for fall recruiting. If you know of a band show or special event that you would like to have us recruit at, please send me a note. There is a ton of things that need to get done before the first camp in November.
If you live within a 100 mile radius of Racine, your help is greatly needed with our BINGO Operation. A night a two a month will give you some great insights into how our organization funds itself and it's also a great way to meet other drum corps supporters. Again, if you can contribute a few hours a month, give us a call or drop an e-mail.
